The Lost Island of Alanna

This is a game that was available free from the Cherry Coke website. It's an adventure game. The walkthrough is the exact sequence in which I did the game. This does not mean there are not other sequences.

At beginning screen, get the staff on the left.

Forward.

On the left, get the wedge-shaped rock.

On the right, notice there are vines that cannot be picked up yet.

Go forward to the locked gate—you cannot cross.

Gate solve is the first tablet in the docs on the net site. If you cannot access this, the best I can do is the first one is a symbol of a door. The second is hieroglyphs, and the correct one is about two pulls of the second stick and has a triangle in the first portion of the glyph. The last is one pull on the last stick and is the word "nemequ."

Before going through the gate, pick up the small stone on the ground.

Forward.

Go left, pick up two antlers, curved and forked.

Go back out and go right. This is a magic square and solves to be a lotus (flower) symbol. I solved this by trial and error.

Once done, collect the sword and money in what looks like a giant hat to the left.

Go back to the vine and cut with the sword.

Go forward to the ravine.

Pick up the short piece of rope.

Go into inventory make the staff with twine on end by putting staff then twine in inventory, then add curved antler.

Hook the rope on the other side of the ravine.

Go into inventory. Click antler then vine to make a slingshot. Add the small stone to load it. You'll use this later.

Swing across the ravine on the rope by clicking forward.

Left is a ferry landing.

Right is a puzzle. It has three buttons that move three stones with symbols on them. The solution is on tablet two. As these are again glyphs, I'll attempt to describe, but I'm not guaranteeing anything: the first has got three lines that are like triangles to the right, then two, then two straight up and down. The second is one up and down and two smaller one on top of the other next to it also up and down. The third is two to the right with three to the right next to it. All of these are elongated triangle shapes.

Take the large saw, bag of stones with carvings, book, and the flower to the left.

There's a bug in the game regarding the book—when I looked at it in inventory, the game froze up, then erased all my inventory, a pretty icky thing. Just leave it in inventory without looking at it and click on it to use when it's time, and it will not seize up. This happened on a Mac, so if you're playing on a PC, this may not necessarily be the case.

Take the flower, book, and money and place on the barrels by the ferry (to the left) in that order. Click on the bell. This will summon the ferry.

Cross ferry.

Take barrel on the left.

In inventory, put barrel with gunpowder, and string for fuse.

On the left is a locked chest.

On the right, a beehive with bees.

Forward is a locked gate.

Go right and use the whip on the beehive, knocking it to the ground. Light the bush on fire with the matches—this will smoke out the bees. Cut off the heavy log (a branch) from the tree—the one on the right side—with the saw.

In inventory, put the log with the wedge-shaped stone to make a lever.

Go back to the screen before the ferry, and go forward. There is a boulder blocking the way. Use the log lever to push it out of the way.

Forward is a landing with a ballast/counterweight on the right, a kettle needing weight on the left, and writing on the dirt in front. Drop the bag of carved stones on the writing, and they will come out onto the screen. In order to solve this puzzle, you must load the kettle with the correct stones. To solve, put all stones in the kettle except the ones with vii and iv on them, then click on the wood in the center of the water, and a path will come up.

Walk across the path.

Loose rocks are blocking the path. Put the barrel in the center of the rocks, light it on fire with the match. Back up one screen to have it explode.

Go forward, walk over rubble. Your path is blocked.

Go back to the second screen from the very beginning and turn left. Take ladder made of rope and wood, then back out. Turn right, then take hammer now exposed to view from the blast.

Go past gate, turn right, check out the collapsed puzzle, pick up the two wooden stakes in the grass on the right.

Go forward and cross the ravine. Turn right. Take the shovel. Back out, go forward to the end, past the blast. Use the shovel on the loose dirt. Take the uncovered small gold key.

Go back to the ferry and cross. Go left. Use the key on the box. Take the flask of oil.

Back up and go forward to the gate. On the left middle of the gate is a lever (it's actually down the road but looks like it's attached to the gate till it's open). Shoot at the lever with the sling shot and it opens.

Forward is a game board. Object of the game is to trap the lion in five moves. You have two game pieces on either side. Your pieces, when moved, open up a hole in the game board two up and one over, like a knight's chess move. To win: use only the right piece, go forward, up left/diagonal, down left/diagonal, down right/diagonal. If done correctly, you with have four openings in four corners of the center. Then move to the center to cut off the lion.

Take the planks. Forward is a dark entrance and two dry torches. Use the flask of oil and fill both torches.

Lay the planks on the ground in front of the door.

There are eight planks with different symbols on them. The torches each have two pegs on them to hang the planks on. Hang the circle plank, then the hand plank, on the left torch, then hit the flint, which is its hand. Put the flower and sideways oval on the second, hit the flint, and the walkway is open.

Walk into the cavern. Go forward until you see a door. This drops off, and you have to cross it. Take your wooden stakes and drop them. I had to click around on the floor for a while but finally did it under the left torch about an inch and slightly to the right. Take the hammer and pound the stakes into the ground by clicking in between them.

Hang the rope ladder on the stakes.

Climb down the ladder.

Approach the door.

The door is a puzzle with a ball in the center with words in it, a circle with symbols around it, and an outer circle with hieroglyphs. You have to match the correct symbols and glyphs. The sets of most of these are in the tablet section of the docs.

The solution is:

Ramu/bird/4 o'clock glyph
Ibrutu/lotus/2 o'clock glyph
Lalu/horse/1 o'clock glyph
Nemequ/door/8 o'clock glyph
Taklutu/man/5 o'clock glyph
Imittu/lion/7 o'clock glyph
Tub libbi/duckling/11 o'clockglyph
Kasittu/3 flowers/10 o'clock glyph

When the name comes up, click on the symbol, then the glyph—if correct they will light up. Light all up at once to complete the puzzle.

When complete Lalu comes up, hit the horse symbol, and both outer circles will rotate. Open the four outer knobs, then the inner circle will roll back to reveal a really cheesy "congratulations" screen, telling you you have completed the main puzzle.
